DESCRIPTION

Tasting Notes

A rich, lifted nose with notes of dark plums, blackcurrant, spice and clean, fresh oak highlights.

Wine Making

Our 2021 The Brothers Shiraz has undergone extended maturation in both barrel and bottle prior to release. This time has allowed the fruit, oak and tannins to fully integrate and deliver a truly memorable Rutherglen Shiraz. After fermentation for ten days using closed fermenters, the wine was aged in French oak puncheons for 2.5 years.

Cellaring

Whilst approachable now, this complex and structured wine will reward those with the patience to cellar to 2035 and beyond.

Technical

The Grapes: The best Shiraz from our Rutherglen vineyards.
Date Tasted: April 2025
Alcohol: 14.4%
T.A (g/l): 6.6g/L

Palate:

Full bodied, powerful & velvety smooth with concentrated plum and blackcurrant. Carefully selected oak overlays the fruit adding a touch of spice, whilst fine grippy tannins provide balance and length. A powerful wine with the natural building blocks to age and develop in bottle.
