“Fortified wines are not just a winter indulgence; they can be enjoyed year-round. Over summer months, drizzle over ice cream or include it as a key ingredient in a refreshing cocktail. Then in late autumn and winter, enjoy a Muscat infused dessert in front of a crackling fire and a warming glass of our Classic Muscat. Absolutely delicious – sun drenched raisins fill the palate with intense lingering flavours on the finish.” said Jane.
So, what makes Campbells Topaques and Muscats among the world’s best?
“At Campbells our fortified wines are made using a solera system, so the flavour and complexity is unable to be replicated. They require much patience and knowledge to create and to ensure their longevity. They hold five generations of winemaking experience,” said Jane.
The mild, sunny and stable climate of Rutherglen also makes Campbells fortified wines unique.
“Our continental climate provides more ‘hangtime’ for our fruit on the vines helping the fruit to produce more natural sugars, which is ideal for Topaque and Muscat making,” said Jane.
“Additionally, our soil and vineyards play a vital role, as they are the beginning of our winemaking journey.
“We are proud to have recently received certification by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia for our vineyard and winery practices.”
In 2024, our fortified wines enjoyed success at numerous award shows, which we are extremely proud of.
